Hi Chris & Dan

Date Night Friday: For some time, Jana and JJ have been telling us about a really fun restaurant in Lake Oswego. It's called Oswego Grill and it really lived up to the Avison's hype. The food was excellent and the service was delightful. Chris & Dan served us our yummy food and beverages and took our picture for the blog. We in turn took their picture and at their request, gave them the blog address. So if you're reading this guys, hi and thanks for a fun evening. If you haven't been to Oswego Grill, stop in sometime. It's a winner.

One With The YoYo

Porter holding Daddy's new "off string" yoyo
AJ trying to memorize a new trick
Ryan Lee qualified for nationals
Pretty nice view from our room at the Mayfair Hotel

Once again the DeBackers and the DeBackers traveled to Seattle to enjoy the Regional YoYo Competition. And as usuual, the guys dazzled with their yoyo artistry. I know it sounds lame but these guys can do things with a yoyo that just boggles the mind. If you've been watching the Olympics you have seen that the Northwest is having spectacular weather. The skies are blue and cloudless, the sun is shinning and it's right on the verge of being warm. On Saturday morning I headed out to shop while Al, Maryanne, AJ and Porter went to Seattle Center to watch the early yoyo events. It was so wonderful to shop in such a great downtown...so many shops, so little time. At lunch time I walked down to Pike's Market and had lunch sitting beside the sparkling Puget Sound. Finally around 2:00 I headed down to Seattle Center and arrived just in time for the 5 group finals, the best part of the competition. At 5:30 after all the winners had been crowned we jumped in the car and headed home. Porter was a trooper and slept practically the entire time. So did Grandpa. It was a quick trip but fun nevertheless.

Valentine's Day # 42

Al always sends gorgeous flowers
I wanted a Starbucks card and got 2
Al wanted a picture for his office
The Thursday night gang minus Corban & Lauren

2010 marks our 37th wedding anniversary. We started dating 5 years earlier so if my addition is correct, this is the 42nd time that Al and I have celebrated Valentine's Day together. And I hope we get 43 more. This year, we started V-Day weekend with a dinner at our church. Each year, the high school kids do a fundraising dinner and this year Jana & JJ, Maryanne & AJ and Dad & Jeanne joined us. Then on Saturday night we went out to dinner with Don & Cheri Suklis, which is always fun. Sunday morning we exchanged cards and gifts and then lounged around all day watching the Olympics. We got a chuckle over the fact that the outside designs of our cards were different but the words inside were almost identical..."I love you today and always will". True 42 years ago, true today.

It Was A Super Sunday

The Boys chillin' in the man-cave
JJ's BIG TV
No one left hungry

Porter hung out with the girls and played with Connects

Jana and JJ hosted their first Super Bowl Party last weekend and it was a smashing succes. JJ's wonderful home theater is almost finished so the guys enjoyed the game on a gorgeous 90" HDTV. They were in heaven. The girls hung out upstairs and visited and kept the food company. Everyone brought yummy treats so we feasted. The only time we saw the boys was when their tummies drove them to the kitchen. Jana and JJ are wonderful hosts so I hope they plan on doing the party next year. It was a super day!

Rip City Party

Al and I were invited to see a Blazer game in one of the luxuary suites at the Rose Garden last week. What a lovely way to enjoy the game. Big cushy seats, flat screen TVs in case you're too lazy to actually watch the game live, private bathrooms, free yummy food, an open bar and visits from the Blazer Dancers. Our poor injured Blazers even beat the San Antonio Spurs in a very close and exciting game. Sometimes it's fun to live like the very rich!

This One's For You, Jeffrey

I had the pleasure of spending yesterday afternoon with my trucker brother Jeff. After a warm greeting he started trash talkin' about my lack of blog updates. His words...I drive hundreds of miles everyday and yet I manage to keep everyone posted. I explained calmly, as only an older wiser sister can, that my life is far less exciting than his. I'm not complaining mind you it's just that after our big trip in November, we've been stickin' pretty close to home. And how many pictures of Porter do you really want to see??? So Jeff, I'll do better. If you get bored with my ramblings and unending pictures of the perfect grandchild (till next month) remember...you asked for it.
Love you loads so stay safe!
